Ten days of hoping. Ten days of disappointment. On day eight Proverbs 13:12 was settling into my very core.
"Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life."
I was so sick, but on day nine, I woke at 4am pondering the second half of the verse… "but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life". Humanity was barred from the tree of life when Adam and Eve were sent out of the Garden of Eden. An angel with a flaming sword kept anyone from going back in and reaching the tree of life.
The only way we could ever partake of the tree of life is if God himself brought the fruit out to us.
When we still long but have run out of hope. We find life on the tree where God came to man as a man to die. Giving new life to our hope of again being united in a perfect Garden with no more sickness of heart, body, or mind.
